| i am about to finish off my stereo install and the plan so far has been to cut the door panels to install the front component tweeters near the air vents in the doors. i see that many people have done this successfully. however, if i could avoid cutting the doors that'd be cool. i have heard of people mounting the tweeters in the air vents, but aside from not really knowing how i'd get them mounted and aligned properly in there, i think the sound quality would suffer too much. in searching for a pillar mount options, all i can find is people saying they made custom pods. that's not an option for me unless i find someone else to make them for me. i haven't run by any stereo shops yet, but figured i'd ask here -- does anyone know of an off the shelf solution for mounting component tweeters on the a pillar? my only thought so far as to use a single gauge pod on each side, but i haven't looked into whether or not they're made to fit properly on the passenger side (or if i could get a matching gauge pod for a jspec), or if the hole for the gauge matches closely enough the size of my tweeter. thoughts? thanks. andrew davidoff
